Farmer unions have generally remained focused on production parameters, trade, seeking support for inputs costs or farm-gate prices. The panels aims to transform the agrarian crisis debate to be more encompassing and discusses issues other than those that are directly related to agriculture and which have a strong bearing on the future of farmer livelihoods:
